Sunyani Traditional Council Has Suspended Sunyani Queenmother Until Further Notice
The Sunyani Traditional Council has suspended the Queenmother of the Sunyani Traditional Area Nana Akosua Duaa Asor Sika Brayie II with immediate effect.
In a press briefing, the Traditional Council tasked all institutions, including the media not to recognize her in any capacity as Queenmother of the Traditional Area. The council also charged media houses not to grant her interviews or invite her to speak on any chieftaincy-related matters

On Monday, June 16, 2025, the queenmother, Akosua Duaa Asor Sika Brayie II enstooled Dr Osei Tutu, a 63-year-old United States-based physiotherapist as the new Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
Dr Osei Tutu swore the oath of allegiance to the Sunyani Traditional Council under the stool name Ofentemfrem Omenasono Dr Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri III, succeeding the late Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II.
According to the Council, the queen mother’s conduct and actions are disrespectful to the Boahen Korkor Stool and the authority of the Traditional Council. The council however noted that a committee has been constituted to investigate the matter.

As of June 17, 2025, the Sunyani Traditional Area has three individuals claiming the chieftaincy title. These individuals are Nana Yaw Twene Amanfo II, known in private life as Adom Manu, Odeefuor Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, known in private life as Yaw Agyare and the latest Ofentemfrem Omenasono Dr Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri III, known in private life as Dr Osei Tutu
