Sunyani MCE, Mr Antwi Agyei Vincent Reacts To Atronie-Sunyani Armed Robbery Incident

Sunyani MCE: Mr. Antwi Agyei Vincent, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive has reacted to the recent armed robbery incident that occurred along the Atronie-Sunyani Road. The incident which occurred on Friday, June 13 resulted in the death of one person, leaving several others injured.

In a statement issued by Mr. Antwi Agyei Vincent on Monday, June 16, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and wished the injured a full recovery. He noted that, the Bono Regional Police Command, together with the Sunyani Divisional and Municipal Commands, had increased security presence on the Sunyani-Atronie road.

He also stated that, patrol vehicles and motorbikes have been deployed to improve visibility and ensure quick response to any threat. He further called on the public to remain vigilant and united as efforts are made to improve security and protect lives.

STATEMENT ON THE ATRONIE-SUNYANI ROAD ROBBERY INCIDENT

It is with deep sadness and concern that I address the recent tragic armed robbery incident which occurred on Friday, 13th June 2025, along the Atronie-Sunyani road. This heinous act led to the unfortunate loss of a life and caused injuries to several innocent individuals.

On behalf of the Sunyani Municipal Assembly, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time. We also wish all those injured a speedy and full recovery.

Following the incident, the Bono Regional Police Command, in close collaboration with the Sunyani Divisional and Municipal Command, has intensified security measures along the affected stretch and other vulnerable areas. Additional patrol vans and surveillance motorbikes have been deployed to ensure enhanced visibility and rapid response to any threats.

I urge all residents to remain calm and cooperate fully with the security agencies as investigations continue and proactive measures are implemented to safeguard lives and property.

Let me also take this opportunity to reassure residents that, as earlier stated by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama during his Thank You Tour in Sunyani, the reconstruction of the Atronie-Sunyani road remains a top priority. This administration is committed to seeing that the road is fixed with urgency.
