As part of efforts to sustain the campaign, the FC called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to consider introducing environmental and tree planting clubs in basic schools. In a speech by Mr. Godfred Mawutor Quashigah, Bono Regional Forest Manager noted that the formation of such clubs would help build interest in environmental protection among schoolchildren.

He said early involvement in tree planting would also help restore degraded landscapes and create jobs through sustainable forest management. Mr. Joseph Akwaboa, Bono Regional Minister, encouraged the public to take tree planting as a personal and collective responsibility to improve Ghana’s forest cover and reduce the impact of climate change. He said every tree planted represents a step toward safeguarding the environment for future generations.
