The curfew hours imposed on Sampa, a town in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region has been renewed by the Minister for Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak. The renewed curfew takes effect from Thursday, June 5, 2025, and will be in force from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. each day.

According to a statement by the Ministry of the Interior, the decision is based on the advice of the Bono Regional Security Council and is being implemented by Executive Instrument. The government has appealed to chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth, and residents of the area to remain calm and continue using peaceful means to address their concerns.

Also, there’s a total ban on the carrying of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons by all persons in the Sampa Township. “Any person found in possession of such items will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement warned.
