7 Students From Lawra SHS, Upper West Region Drown In Dikpe River
Students From Lawra SHS: Information reaching the news desk of blackghana.com indicates that, about ten students from Lawra Senior High School in the Upper West Region have drowned in the Dikpe River in Lawra.
According to several online reports, the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, June 14, 2025, after a canoe they were using during a routine jogging exercise capsized.
The report further state that these students decided to use a canoe to cross to the other side of the river to partake in a routine jogging exercise when the canoe capsized.

While three of the students managed to escape unharmed, seven students have feared dead. As of this writing, authorites are yet to provide a statement regarding the next steps.
