Chairperson of Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa To Appear Before Parliament Over Ablekuma North Election Dispute
Jean Mensah, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission is expected to appear before Parliament this week according to reports.
Her appearance before the National Assembly is to address issues regarding the yet-to-be resolved parliamentary election in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
Due to a dispute over the collation of election results from some polling centres, the constituency has remained without an MP since the general election on December 7
You would recall that on Wednesday, June 4, the Minority in parliament petitioned the Ghana Police Service to provide adequate security for the EC to complete the re-collation process.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensah is scheduled to brief Parliament on the progress made so far on finalising the collation and declaring the outcome of the vote.
