“He is very concerned about the children of Sunyani. He was born and raised here, and this place used to be his personal recreational ground. He used to come and play here many years ago. So, when he became the Omanhene, he decided to revamp the area so that today’s children can also enjoy it as he did,” Nana Sarbin said.

He explained that the park will provide immense benefits to the community, particularly children. “This park will be of great benefit to the people here because many children will begin to access whatever is put in place. He also plans to construct a library so that children can come here, read and enjoy themselves in other areas of life,” he said.

Nana Sarbin added that work on the proposed library would begin soon. As part of activities to mark the reopening, the traditional council hosted a fun-filled event dubbed the Ogyeamansan Party in the Park under the theme, “Uniting in Fun to Reflect on Our Children’s Happiness.”

The event featured a variety of activities including a bouncy castle, barbecues, dancing competitions, face painting, and other games for children. Nana Sarbin called on all stakeholders to support the vision of the Traditional Council to upgrade the facility.

“We are calling on everyone to join hands with the new Omanhene and the Traditional Council to bring this park up to standard. We appeal to all government authorities, stakeholders, and individuals interested in the development of children in our area to come to our aid,” he said.
