Pure Hearts Movement (PHM), a youth-led group has embarked on a clean-up and beautification exercise in the Sunyani township, specifically the Central Business District.
The group, made up of over 30 young men including artisans, students, and professionals from various backgrounds are clearing refuse, desilting gutters, and painting flower beds, roundabouts, pavements, and walkways.
In an interview sighted by by BlackGhana.Com, the leader of the group, Suleimana Salifu, indicated that, the initiative is aimed at promoting community development through voluntary action.
“We want to channel our energy into helping improve our community,” he said. “We need the support of all residents and opinion leaders, particularly in providing paint, brushes, and other tools to help us keep the city clean.”
The group is urging the general public to contribute to the initiative to help maintain a cleaner and more attractive city.
